Biography

Branko Bane Radenković

Contemporary artist · b. 1987, Niš, Serbia

Branko Bane Radenković lives and works in Niš, Serbia. Drawn to art from early childhood, he was fascinated by colour and its capacity to express what cannot be put into words.

He completed the Secondary School of Art and graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Niš. Working primarily in oil on canvas, he places the human figure at the centre of his practice, using the body and its structure to explore what the eye cannot see directly – inner energy, emotion and the complexity of the human being as a living mechanism.

After a seven-year break devoted to other life experiences and work in Bratislava, he returned to painting – and with it, to his own world of colour.

He has taken part in numerous group exhibitions and art colonies. His international presentations include a group exhibition at the Slovak Radio Gallery in Bratislava (2012) and the ARTMUC art fair in Munich (2026).

Artist Statement

My work begins with the human figure – not as an anatomical subject, but as a field through which invisible experiences become visible.

I am interested in what exists beyond direct perception: inner energy, emotion, memory, tension, desire and instinct. The body becomes a kind of map – a structure through which these invisible forces can be sensed.

Through oil, colour, gesture and movement, I try to translate these internal states into visual form. I am less interested in depicting the body exactly as it appears than in expressing the body as it is experienced and felt.

The figure therefore becomes both subject and vessel – a meeting point between the visible and the invisible, between physical presence and the inner world.

My paintings explore that space where what we see begins to reveal what we cannot immediately see.
